PALLASEUM
Archiv der Erinnerungen
The Archive der Erinnerungen is a 26-minute audio work that interweaves the voices of residents and people who have worked in and around the Pallaseum. The Pallaseum is a housing block in Schöneberg, built in the 1970s, that now houses over 2,000 residents with backgrounds from around the globe.
I spoke with 12 individuals who shared their memories, how they came to know the Pallaseum, where they feel most comfortable, and reflections on some of the things that are most important in their lives, community, tolerance, family, and freedom.
BACKGROUND
The project explores the idea of home and what it means to feel at home. Sometimes home comes from a place, sometimes from a set of relationships, other times in memories. As someone who has been struggling with the question of home, having lived in precarity for over 25 years, partly by my own choice to work in the arts and partly because of structural housing and employment practices, I am interested in how others create a sense of home.

MAYADAGute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten.
